Pre-sale and Pre-order: Understanding the Planner Manufacturing Process here in Quebec
Why Planners Take Their Time to Reach You
You might be wondering what "pre-sale" or "pre-order" means, and why it often takes 4 to 8 weeks to receive your planner. Many small businesses launch their planners for the next academic year as early as February or March. Why so early? Because creating a planner, from design to delivery, is a long and complex process.
Many planner creators use "pre-order" to describe the entire process. At Créations KingA+, I want you to understand the difference and our way of working.
1. THE REALITY
Let's not hide it: printing colour planners in Quebec is a real investment, especially compared to prints imported from overseas. If small businesses produced too much just in case, it would not only be very costly but also wasteful.
Pre-sales therefore allow me to better assess interest in each collection, plan production accurately, and avoid unnecessary surpluses. This also allows me to offer more flexibility for your customization (with or without grade sheets, several cover options, etc.).
To produce responsibly, you need to know your numbers, forecast printing costs, accessories, packaging, and everything that goes into creating each planner.
In short, thoughtful production always starts with good planning.
2. LAUNCH DAY AND PRE-SALE
The pre-sale is the first step: this is when you can reserve your planner before it is printed. This allows me to gauge interest in certain models and cover options and adjust production according to your choices. It is also during this period that I finalize all preparations and coordinate with my suppliers for boxes, packaging, and accessories.
3. THE PRE-ORDER
Next comes the pre-order phase: at this stage, planners are already in production, based on estimates gathered during the pre-sale. You continue to reserve your copy, and you still have to wait before receiving it.
Unlike giants like Amazon, who ship in a flash thanks to massive and centralized production, my planners are produced in smaller batches, with care, here in Quebec, and every detail is checked. This waiting time allows me to guarantee a quality and thoughtful product that truly meets your needs.

4. PLANNERS IN STOCK
Once production is complete and I have received the printed copies, the planners are finally in stock. At this point, I can ship much faster, but there are fewer choices: some collections or models may be available in limited quantities or sold out.
That's why pre-sale is the ideal opportunity to get the model and cover you want, and to ensure you receive your planner for the start of the school year.
5. YOUR PATIENCE IS GOLDEN
Participating in a pre-sale or pre-order means supporting a small local business and its partners, while being part of a thoughtful and responsible process. Your patience is rewarded with a carefully designed planner, down to the smallest detail, and conceived to accompany you all year long.
